New England Seagulls | Travel Tuesdays

This photo of seagulls on a stormy coast was made in Marblehead, MA. I never consider myself much of a landscape photographer. Generally, if people aren’t somewhere in my view I won’t press the shutter. People, with all their wonderful flaws and emotions are what inspires me to make photos. However, I caught a glimpse of something here and didn’t really know what it was until I got back to the office and took a closer look at the three shots I made on this rocky beach. I love the framed birds in the crashing waves and the highlights on their wings. It reminds me of those three cold east coast winters I spent in New England where I learned to see things other than people and developed the courage to get close to all my subjects.
