Central America Favorites

I spent 7 weeks backpacking through Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras & Belize this fall. I always have anxiety before embarking on one of my wild adventures. People at home look at me like I’m crazy for taking these trips all by myself and I often make the mistake of looking at the government warnings about the places I am going to which make these countries sound like violent, manic places. But I am stubborn and determined and it has ALWAYS paid off.

This trip was absolutely amazing. The people I met, the places I saw, the experiences I had were one of a kind and I can’t help but think those who don’t wander are the crazy ones. I am proud of the things I’ve accomplished and all the places I’ve been and utterly humbled by the people I’ve met and the experiences they have shared with me.

  1. I’m jealous of your trips. I absolutely love traveling alone it’s nothing personal wanting to travel alone but it is selfish the adventure is what it’s all about nothing luxurious sleeping on floors, cots, whatever…nice set. Love the image 3rd from the top.

  2. Amazing work! Saw a photo of yours in the Times-Call today and did a quick search and glad I did. The photo of the feet hanging over the ledge at dusk, and the woman washing her clothes in the river had my mouth hanging open. Awesome stuff!
