Graduations are one of those events that rarely produce an interesting or new photo. Sure there is the fun shot of somebody cheering after receiving his/her diploma and lot’s of emotional hugging from friends and family after the ceremony.
I took this photo of a Sudanese refugee who took 6 years to complete his Associates degree. Hearing about all the trials and tribulations he had to overcome during his speech moved me. It’s not the typical graduation photo but interesting none the less.
