Isla de Ometepe Nicaragua | Travel Tuesdays

There are so many new places to see and new things to do I rarely go back to countries I have visited. However, I am so psyched to finish up an amazing year by photographing a destination wedding in Costa Rica this December. I decided to come down to Central America a bit earlier to just travel and recharge my batteries before this final wedding.

I flew into Costa Rica last night and grabbed a handful of buses today on my way back to Nicaragua. I am in San Juan del Sur right now looking forward to a few days of surfing before splurging and making my way out to the Corn Islands.

Riding the bumpy chicken buses today, I passed the shores of the massive Lake Nicaragua and could see the stunning volcanoes on Isla de Ometepe. Last time I was in this area I visited the island and explored it’s many backroads and tiny villages by motorbike. I didn’t shoot a lot of photos while traveling on the island but here are a few from my visit.

I absolutely love this first photo. It makes me think of summertime, fresh, juicy childhood and sweet, sweet joy.
