Sometimes I stumble upon places that are just oozing with photo opportunities. Kintamani, Bali along the shores of Danau Batur and at the foot of the active volcano Mount Batur, was one of these places. I had rented a small motorcycle when I got to Indonesia, strapped my huge backpack to the back of the bike and spent a week wandering around the generally less explored interior of Bali. The people of this country are some of the friendliest I have ever met. They were always warm and welcoming and didn’t mind me or my camera.
I loved photographing these happy children with their homemade kites made of tin cans, fishing line, sticks and bits of plastic. With the volcano looming in the background, they wandered onto this farmland, used a rock to kickstand their bikes and paid no attention to me as they watched their kites sail. Their missing teeth smiles are priceless to me.
I love travel Tuesdays!!! They make my day!!!
